Happy 2026: My New Year Gift to you
If you read my work, you already know I love meditation. For most people, meditation is presented as an exotic art that select few can do.
You may even have tried and failed saying, “It is not possible to stop my mind from thinking.” In fact, if anything, it only makes it worse.
So my New Year gift for you is to demystify meditation. To create a logical reason why you should.
Your brain is structured to perform many tasks. To sense the world around. To feel your body in space so you can be balanced.
To sense your organs, and whether they work well. To detect threats from bacteria, virus but also a falling cup.
Let us imagine that 100% of your brain capacity is used for these activities.
Let us call this Level I.
But your mind was not designed for this alone. You’ve had moments of clarity. Where the answer appeared without effort. Where you saw the whole picture at once.
Where time disappeared because you were fully absorbed. This is what your brain can do when the noise quiets.
Let’s call it Level II.
But there is a catch. It needs you to stop Level I thinking. To free up brain space.
That is where meditation comes in. It is nothing but training your body to NOT do something.
For a brief moment to stop worrying where your arm is relative to space. The only way is to train your mind to switch.
Switch gears from Level I to Level II, if you like a car analogy. So that you can do something else.
What is that something else, you may ask?
Mystics would say, be one with consciousness. Scientists would say solve problems for humanity. How you use it is a personal choice.
What matters is that each of you is creating capacity to do more.
So if you want a wonderful 2026 for yourself, train your brain to stop low level thinking. Instead, to use it to address complex higher order issues.
Meditate. Start small. A few minutes is enough.
Wishing you a wonderful 2026 where action overpowers intention, empowered by Level II thinking. A year of transformative change for you.
Thank you for the privilege of making me a part of your everyday life.
